Idaho Learning Center (ILC) began as a non-profit organization in March 2008. ILC is located in Nampa, Idaho and assists children in our community from public schools, private schools and homeschool families.
Founder and director Connie Risser began her training in 2004 with the National Institute for Learning Development, while living overseas with her family. Connie's training enabled her to help her daughter struggling with a learning disability as well as other children in the community. After arriving in Idaho in 2005, Connie discovered there were many other opportunities to help those struggling with various types of learning disabilities.
Idaho Learning Center provides highly effective intervention for all students with alternative giftedness and learning difficulties by building confidence and competence where they struggle to learn. ILC implements tools that utilize a multi-sensory approach to intervention that helps to treat the underlying causes of a learning disability rather than simply treating the symptom. Every educational therapist is trained to assess the unique needs of each struggling student and help him or her reach their fullest potential for learning. While this approach may take time and it not an overnight fix, the changes are permanent and impact life-long learning.
