The Idaho Learning Center (ILC) began as a non-profit organization in March 2008.  ILC is located in Nampa, Idaho and assists children in our community from public schools, private schools and homeschool families.

Founder and director Connie Risser began her training in 2004 with the National Institute for Learning Development, while living overseas with her family.  Connie's training enabled her to help her daughter struggling with a learning disability as well as other children in the community.  After arriving in Idaho in 2005, Connie discovered there were many other opportunities to help those struggling with various types of learning disabilities.

ILC implements tools developed by the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD).  Founded in 1982, NILD's goal is to equip individuals struggling with learning challenges to succeed academically and in life as independent learners.

Many of NILD's techniques were developed through the work of pioneers in the field of learning disorders, such as Archie Silver, M.D. and Rosa Hagin, Ph.D, at Bellevue Medical Center in New York.  NILD is an international organization with active programs, such as the Idaho Learning Center (ILC), all over the world.
